Kalinga Nippon Monastery, Bhubaneswar

Inside the Kalinga Nippon Monastery

About the Monastery

The quaint monastery with simple yet elegant interiors is easily missed by the tourists taken in by the magnificence of the Dahuli Shanti Stupa. Built around the same time as the Stupa i.e 1972, this monastery acts as a residential complex for the monks of the Kalinga Nippon Sangha, whose founder Guruji Fuji was instrumental in collaborating with the Japanese Buddha Sangha to build the Stupa.
