Located 72 Km from Berhampur, the Odisha ecotour nature camp nestled right at the middle of the Kaliamba forest has has immense potential for nature, the property is located further 8 Km into the forest from the old nature camp site which is right on the Saluapalli road. Barking deer, Wild boar, Jackals and Giant Malabar Squirrel are common sighting here along with peacocks and other birds and animal’s.
Rechristened as “Giant Squirrel Nature Camp, the Bhanjanagar nature camps offer splendid view and a sense of being one with nature. The tree house of the Giant Squirrel nature camp is a particular favourite amongst the tourists and can be accessed from Chermaria Nature camp too which is 40 KM away.
Odisha Ecotour- An ecotourism portal under the Odisha Forest Development Corporation Ltd, Government of Odisha, has set up Swiss tents, Cottages and rooms at sixteen forest reserves and nature trail across Odisha. Most of the properties are run on Public Private Partnerships(PPP mode) and are quite comfortable and staff very friendly.

The Nature camp is open throughout the year.The accommodation charges include food also which includes- breakfast, lunch and dinner and tea. The food cooked by forest department personnel is basic, hygienic and taste’s more like home cooked food. Don’t harbour fancy expectations though.
Best time to visit the Nature Camp is the winters; summers are very hot and humid.
The people are generally friendly, helpful and down to earth. However if they perceive you to be a bit over the top then they immediately withdraw.
The nature camp is 8 KM from the National Highway- connecting Berhampur to Phulbani and 6 KM from Bhanjanagar town on the road towards Aska. ATM’s, Petrol pumps and even medicine stores are available along the National Highway.
Carry walking shoes and trekking gear and other essential items like Mosquito repellent, if you are suffering from specific ailments carry your medicine stock and also carry your own medicine kit just in case.
If you can enlist the Forest guards help for a trek or join them on their morning patrol, its worth it.
Nearest railway station is Berhampur – 80 KM from Bhanjanagar and the nearest airport is Bhubaneswar- 170 KM from Bhanjanagar. Buses ply between Berhampur to Bhanjanagar quite frequently.
